Load Bank Testing
Load Bank Testing
Load bank testing is vital for the health of your generator. It helps keep wet stacking (oil in exhaust manifold) from building up due to no load and low load conditions. In turn, to much wet stacking can cause carbon build up, reduce performance, increase fuel consumption, and accelerate engine wear. Generators with passive and active DEF (diesel exhaust fluid) systems also need to be load banked due to accumulation of soot in the DPF (diesel particulate filter). To much soot with cause generator to shut down, this may be in the most time of dire need. The heat from load applied from the load bank can help burn off oil and soot in systems, this will lead to a more efficient system. At AMPED Power Systems we can set customers up on load banking plans to help keep things running smooth. We also can perform load bank testing to NFPA110 requirements and specification. We will provide documentation after test for proof.
